CST criticises employers’ ‘basic failings’
An alleged social worker was able to practise despite not being qualified or registered a GSCC investigation has found. In response to the case, the Care Standards Tribunal (CST) has criticised a number of local authorities and employment agencies for ‘basic failings’, which could have put a young person or child at risk.

News from Skills for Care and the Children’s Workforce Development Council
A new partnership arrangement has been agreed between the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) and Skills for Care to help ensure relevant, high quality, practice learning opportunities for social work students continue to be available, and that both newly qualified and more experienced social workers are able to access continuing professional development (CPD).
