SCIE information for newly qualified social workers

June 2009
Image of SCIE’s logo’ Newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) will help to shape the future of social care. Therefore, it is vital that you have access to the latest information and resources to support and develop your practice right from the start of your career.

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) works to improve social care services for adults and children in the UK by identifying, advancing and promoting good practice. As part of this role, SCIE produces free practice guidance for everyone in the sector, along with research briefings and e-learning resources.

Of particular interest to NQSWs will be 'Personalisation: a rough guide'; a practical guide to this current key development in social care, and SCIE’s outcome statements for NQSWs working in adult services. For more details, see the SCIE website.

For current social care information which is updated daily visit Social Care Online – a free, UK database from SCIE.
