Out and about - the GSCC speaking to registrants

Workshops for social workers at their place of employment have continued and we recently spoke to social workers at Bolton, Hackney, Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Redbridge, Reading and the West Midlands about the transfer of regulatory functions from the GSCC to the HPC. We held workshops at six Skills for Care and Reform Board events and two Compass jobs fairs. We also held a joint stand at the National Children’s and Adults’ Services Conference with the Health Professions Council (HPC).

Social workers raised many questions about the transfer. They wanted to know about any changes to fees and the impact of the loss of a dedicated regulator on their professional identity. They were also concerns about the impact of the transfer on post-registration training and learning (PRTL) and post-qualifying (PQ) awards.

If we haven’t spoken to you of your colleagues yet, don’t fear! We have questions and answers about the transfer on our website and many more events in the pipeline, keep your eye on our website or ask your employer for further details.
