Because many social workers first joined the register when registration became compulsory in 2005, over 45,000 of you are due to renew your registration during January to May 2011.
We would like to remind you that it is vital that your contact details are up-to-date in order that renewal paperwork can be sent to the correct address. We should be notified of changes to your employment details, contact telephone numbers and email addresses, as well as any offence, disciplinary or health declarations.
If any of your personal details have changed please update them online using your MyGSCC account, or email us at changeofcircumstances@gscc.org.uk If you do not yet have a MyGSCC account and would like to set one up, email us at online.queries@gscc.org.uk, quoting your Social Care Register (SCR) number, your name and your date of birth.
Because of the large volume of renewals that we are due to receive, we ask that you let us know of any changes now rather than upon renewal of registration as this will help to speed up the process. Also, please pass this request on to your social work colleagues in case they have not read it here!
One of the conditions of renewal of registration is to have undertaken 90 hours or 15 days of post-registration training or learning (PRTL) within your current three year registration period. More information on what can count towards PRTL is available on our website at www.gscc.org.uk.
If you have any questions about your renewal, you can contact us by email at registration@gscc.org.uk or by calling 0845 070 0630. If you are calling from outside the United Kingdom (UK), please dial +44 (0)1788 532402.
