GSCC’s plans and priorities 2009-12

GSCC corporate plan front cover

We have recently published our three year Corporate Plan 2009-10 to 2011-12 and annual Business Plan 2009-10.

The Corporate Plan sets our three year strategic aims and objectives; and the Business Plan outlines our priorities and activities to deliver in the first year of the Corporate Plan.

In a year of significant change within social care and regulatory practice we will keep our annual business plan under review and adapt it to meet changing circumstances. We have a key role in delivering reform in line with the workforce strategies for both adult social care and the children's workforce to ensure high standards across the workforce. At the same time the economic climate is such that value for money from all public bodies will be under increasing scrutiny and we will demonstrate that we continue to increase our efficiency as we develop as an organisation.

Our priorities for 2009-10 are to:

  • strengthen our relationships with employers
  • improve the quality of social work education and training
  • ensure our approach to regulation and funding is in line with changes to regulatory practice
  • be more efficient and effective
  • give value for registrants
  • reinforce our role in the sector
  • deliver and realise the benefits of our restructure and relocation

Copies of the plans are available as PDFs on our website.
